warning: this is a detailed version of my day, may 30. read at your own risk... might be boring, but i felt like talking a lot tonight
it's Monday again... just another hectic week starting again. i had quiz in conact2 this afternoon, and difficult was not enough to describe the test! it was impossible! i remember studying all afternoon yesterday, and a few hours this morning but heck, that was not enough. i even came to school about an hour early so i could get my hands on some OT (old tests, quiet!) and see what my prof has already given her classes in the last terms. my classmates were already there, studying. kat, jigs, and tedd were already at the conserv solving problems. of course, i joined them. we got so frustrated that we could not answer the questions in the OT for adaprob, and conact2 was supposed to be the review subject for adaprob.
it's funny, because more people came and we all moved over to make room for them. they would not want to move to a next table because we were all sharing OTs. of course, we all need to get a 2.0 (83) in the class to pass since all of us did not pass the comprehensive exam, except for dianne. she passed, lucky girl. all she needs is a 1.0 (75).
the only person not doing anything was omar (who is a son of a Muslim princess.... btw, does that make him a prince? he would not tell). he did not take conact2 this term. lucky guy, all he did was talk to tedd about the show The Contender and the movie Phantom of the Opera. i asked him to tell me the ending because i slept through watching the dvd. and i did not get to study at all.
the thing i like most about my friends is that whenever a lot of us get together, we do not run out of things to talk about. laugh trip talaga! but this could be really annoying when we were all cramming for an exam. in this case we go to the library and take up separate tables so we would be forced to keep quiet.
it was only the first quiz, but it all felt like the midterms. my friend dyan commented that it does not seem like the second week of classes because we are already stressed. typical accounting students. nerdy, but we tend to get excited shopping for accounting, law, and taxation books. dyan even texted me last saturday that she found this particular financial accounting book we were both looking for in goodwill bookstore at sm southmall. she was excited! shopping galore, she texted. i answered that i could not wait to go the store and purchase some books myself.
as i mentioned, the quiz was hell! first, we came in about two minutes early, but we were surprised to see the rest of the class already there, punching numbers in their calculators. there was a scramble for chairs, worksheets, and a race to the prof for the questionnaire (exaj! hehe)
i was only, like, halfway to the exam when i saw a few people already passing their worksheets. i panicked! is it only me, or is the quiz really difficult? those guys are really good to finish the quiz way ahead of time.
it is funny to see accounting students after a quiz. we compare answers and we tend to shriek like we won the lottery when we find that we have the same answers. you should see the corridors after the exam this afternoon. we were all there, blocking the corridor, comparing answers, and telling the next class about the quiz. this made me wish that i have taken the second class instead, so i could ask the first class about their quizzes
as we walked to our next class, we saw our former blockmate ching, who is now taking up legal management. she is about the most absent-minded person i know. she just came to class last thursday because she thought that classes would begin today, may 30 when in fact classes began last monday, may 23. she told me that she was confused that many people were texting her while she was in the province, asking if she was sick or something, because she has missed her classes. when we first heard that story, we laughed ourselves silly. typical ching! last year she did not get to come to class on the first week because she had not paid her tuition on time and was not able to get her copy of her schedule from the registrar. she said she lost her own copy of the schedule and did not know which classes she was supposed to be in! funny really...
anyway, after that grueling exams, it was a class in negotiable instruments law next. our prof was this soft-spoken attorney for whom dianne crushes on since he became our prof two terms ago. it has been a joke that dianne got really good grades in our law on sales class because our prof was her inspiration. hmm... not a bad idea...
well, the prof may be cute, but he's got a really soft voice. too bad for us because we came to class a bit late on the first day and we were forced to sit at the back. i dont have a good ear, and there were times when i have to ask elmer or apple for what the prof has said and there were times when they did not get to hear him either. masaklap.
i got to get home early today, there is no manser2 class, ("fieldwork" for thesis) and i almost ran to catch the shuttle (colorum, or whatever you might call it). i said almost ran because i could not really run because i was wearing sandals and it rained: i walked very fast instead.
i was about to board the shuttle and settle in between two boys at the back when i heard a loud voice behind me say, "ang lakas mo marian!" i dont need to turn around to see who it was. it has got to be my friend daniel. (fast fact: "ang lakas mo" is a shortcut for "ang lakas mo naman sumingit" or "ang lakas mo namang magpapansin", which daniel popularized in high school, together with an arm sign i would rather not describe here).
i sat across him, and began a trip-long conversation about high school, iv-philippians, our former teachers, our old school, OJT, mapua, etc. laugh trip ulit! he was also sitting next to this girl who is a freshman at csb and also went to our old school. we quizzed her about the recent happenings at st james, which was not much. our old school was going down the drain. the last time i was there was last february, when i fetched my lilttle brother from school because mama was unavailable.
anyway, gotta do homework na... till next time... pag sinipag ulit
