[13 Oct 200302:56pm] I have a new book to recommend to you lot. It’s called Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas. The book was written by bob ong, also the culprit of the phenomenal (for me anyway), ABNKKBSNPlaKo? and Bakit Baligtad Magbasa ng Libro ang mga Pilipino? I don’t know why I was drawn to his books. Let’s see. AB is a book recommended to me by my best friend. Sounds normal, but AB is different. It was her boyfriend who lent her the book. It was a big surprise coz her bf never reads books if he can get away with it. Then AB must be pretty good because the guy who never even reads posters or cereal boxes (coz he claims that reading too much hurts his eyes…kuno) read a whole book in one sitting (the book was pretty thin, but you know what I mean). That’s when I discovered bob ong and bobongpinoy.com (his website…dunno if it’s still online).

Bakit Baligtad was another story. There I was browsing in the bookstore for yet another book to read during the summer break, when I chanced upon a yellow book with Erap on the cover. I was amused, because the book was really upside-down. Then I saw who the author was and I knew that this was a book not to be ignored.

This Saturday I was again in the bookstore looking for (memories? Memoirs? Tales? Whatever) of an unwanted chinese daughter (highly recommended by jigs carag). Surprise, surprise I still couldn’t find a copy. I was looking for it since june. Anyway, I came to the filipino books sections and there I saw AB and Bakit Baligtad. There was also a small black book without the usual plastic cover. There was no title on the front cover and I became curious (who wouldn’t be?). I thought it could be a diary or address book (it looks a lot like ours) that somebody misplaced in the books section. The spine said the title and the author. I read the first few pages and I decided to buy it. Not that one, though. I still had to look for a new copy (with plastic) at the bestsellers of the month rack.

That book is another must-read. It was amusing in its own way, even if some might say that the author is just writing random thoughts (like what we do) and then voila! He’s got a book. But still, it’s okay to read a fun book once in a while. For once (make that thrice) in your life, try to stay away from philosophical, romantic, suspense, sci-fi novels that you’re used to and read a not-so-serious book by a not-so-serious author. Chances are you learn a lot. You can be amused and entertained at the same time.

Pardon me for saying random thoughts. I just couldn’t think of a good event that happened in my life this past few days. Hopefully this week, there could be.
